The Sarah Jane Adventures continues, with a new adventure that’s become considered to be as good as a Doctor Who episode. An odd meteorological occurance leads Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) and her team into investigating a strange totem pole on display in a museum. While examining the exhibit, Clyde Langer (Daniel Anthony) gets cut by a splinter from the totem, causing an unnerving series of events.

Following his blood being spilt by the totem, Clyde’s name becomes cursed… turning everyone around him to hate and despise him after the mention of his name. Disowned and kicked out from home, Langer finds himself on the streets alone, homeless, and without hope… until a homeless girl he had previously helped callled Ellie (Lily Loveless) enters his life, and helps him adjust to the street life.

But the curse doesn’t end there. The totem is in fact a prison for a malicious alien, and is using the curse to psychically cause its escape. The events lead up to a pivotal moment where Clyde must make a choice: shall he save the life of one person – of the life of billions?

During TARDISblend 44, we review the events of The Curse of Clyde Langer, and look at the impressive performance put in by Daniel Anthony, in an episode that was quite mature and very emotional. The serial takes on the complicated, but important, issue of homelessness, in addition to the usual fare of adventures involving aliens.

We also review a couple of historical facts brought up in the episode, including the curious Curse of Tippecanoe. Later, we make some early Sarah Jane Adventures and Classic Doctor Who recommendations, and discuss what YOU had to say in comments on previous episodes. All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Social Blend Podcast) and geek journalist Tom Cheredar, TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Matt Smith makes his journey as the Eleventh Doctor!

Elisabeth Sladen may be gone, but she is not forgotten, as her final episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures are released at long last. The fifth and final series begins with a strange knock on the door in the middle of the night, in which Sarah Jane finds an infant abandoned at her doorstep.

Naming the baby Sky, she soon discovers this child has the strange ability to conduct and absorb energy, causing havoc across the area. But Sarah Jane is convinced that Sky was brought to her for a reason – and it turns out that it is central to a galactic war between two civilizations who have now brought their battles to Earth.

During TARDISblend 43, we review the events of Sky, and look at the extensive history of Sarah Jane and how much Elisabeth Sladen has contributed to the universes of Doctor Who. We also take a look at the next adventure in the series, that places Clyde Langer (Daniel Anthony) as the central focus of the episodes.

Later, we make some early Sarah Jane Adventures and Classic Doctor Who recommendations. All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Spoiler Alerts go out to all listeners, for the season finale for Doctor Who Series 6 is here, and finds the Doctor (Matt Smith) stepping forward to face his ultimate destiny at the fixed point in time at Lake Silencio in Utah. But before he allows the Silence to accomplish their goals, he begins to investigate their motivations. The quest will bring him answers – and more questions.

The result is a choice by River Song (Alex Kingston) that splits time apart, and the Doctor must find a way to restore the universe from the wibbly-wobbly alternate timeline, and the only way to do so is his accept the demise at Lake Silencio. How will the Doctor get out of this one? And what is the mysterious question for which the answer is “Silence Will Fall”?

During TARDISblend 42, we review the events of The Wedding Of River Song, and look at the revelation of the question that must never be asked, and the impact it may have on the future of Doctor Who. We also look into the answers surrounding the events at the beginning of the season – did Steven Moffat wrap everything up as expected?

Dorium Maldovar (Simon Fisher Becker) returns in this episode in a very inventive manner, and provides some clues to things we may see in Series 7 and Series 8, as we make our predictions and wish list for what we want in the future of Doctor Who. We also discuss the badass scenes shared between Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) in the season finale.

Later, we make some Classic Doctor Who recommendations, discuss what YOU had to say in comments on previous episodes, and highlight what is coming next week for our next show!
